After the two electrifying performances of the Cleveland Indians, the Toronto Blue Jays are chin deep in trouble, as they trail the Indians 2-0. When eighteen innings of baseball was over, the Toronto Blue Jays lineup managed to make just ten hits and one run, which is very much disturbing and maddening for the Blue Jays pitchers, as they were nearly as good. The Indians were led by the star shortstop Francisco Lindor, who bagged three of the runs for Indians, and reliever Andrew Miller, who was able to strike out ten of the twelve batters he faced over the 3 2/3 innings.
The game 3 starter for Indians is Trevor Bauer, who was able to pitch well enough against Red Sox in the Divisional round. He lasted 4 2/3 and gave up three runs on six hits. This included long balls to Sandy Leon and Andrew Benintendi, before turning a 4-3 lead over to Andrew Miller. Bauer set career high strike out against Toronto Blue Jays on August 19 and he fanned thirteen over eight innings in the game giving up two runs. However, he was unlucky to settle for a no-decision, in a 3-2 victory win by the Indians, with a walk-off inside-the-park home run by Tyler Naquin.
Bauer was also able to pitch well against Toronto coming on to pitch five innings that were scoreless. In ALCS of previous year, the Blue Jays headed home down 2-0 to the Royals and passed the ball to Marcus Stroman. This was the worst post-season performance of the career of Stroman as he gave up four runs on eleven hits and another walk over 6 1/3 innings. This game remains the only playoff game in which he got the win with a 10-4 lead. The Toronto bullpen was able to make an 11-8 victory.
The Jays headed home down 2-0 to the Indians now and handed the ball to Marcus Stroman and he was far better in this year’s Wild Card Game, as he was able to hold the Orioles to two runs on four hits over six innings, with six strikeouts. He was lights out against Cleveland this year, and gave up just two runs in fourteen innings.
