Subscribers of Dish Network packages will be much familiar with the Sling TV OTT service from them. This service specializes in offering slimmed down pay TV plans and is much popular among streaming service enthusiasts. As per the recent reports, Sling TV is further looking to broaden their new ‘Blue’ multi stream offering.

This would be done by offering access to NBC shows like Superstore, America’s Got Talent and The Voice on an on-demand basis, outside the ten O&O markets of the broadcaster. The shows will be available from the day after they are aired live on television.

Sling TV Blue is a service that is offered for twenty-five dollars a month, if the user buys it as a standalone service. The subscription service offers local NBC feeds in O&O markets including New York, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Dallas/Fort Worth, Washington DC, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, and Hartford/New Haven. Sling TV Blue also offers local feed from Fox in Fox O&O markets.

Sling TV is currently offering a discount of five dollars to subscribers who also opt for Sling Orange, which includes ESPN channels and costs twenty dollars per month as a standalone service. Subscribers can have Sling Blue and Sling Orange services for a total of forty dollars a month, getting a discount of five dollars in the overall subscription fee.

Users can also add the Broadcast Extra package from Sling TV that is available for five dollars a month. The add-on features ABC in Fresno-Visalia, Los Angeles, and Univision and UniMás in Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, and Raleigh-Durham.

The on-demand approach of Sling TV with NBC is similar to that of Sony’s PlayStation Vue, which is a virtual multi channel video platform service, offering local broadcasts of CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox in all of their respective owned and operated markets. The service also offers next day VOD access from these networks in all their markets.

This is one of the key reasons why over the top services have become much popular among the users these days. Subscribers can watch all their favorite shows in their comfortable time for a reduced subscription charge.
