In a statement Niraj Desai, Dish Network’s vice president of product management said, “We designed Hopper 3 to be much more than a conventional set-top box. By aggregating apps like YouTube and Netflix with live linear television, Hopper 3 is capable of serving as a household’s comprehensive entertainment hub.”
The launch of this app will enable the users to browse videos by using their standard YouTube Red or YouTube accounts directly from Hopper 3. In addition to that, the app also allows users to cast videos from their mobile YouTube app to Dish Network’s Hopper 3. This will enable a big screen viewing experience to Hopper 3.
The Dish Hopper 3 device, which was launched earlier this year, instantly grabbed the attention of customers and became the most powerful DVR available in the market. Many advanced features are available in this service, which includes voice-enabled remote, the channel guide, option to search for content across Netflix, and the availability of On-Demand content. These features make Dish Hopper 3 identical to other streaming boxes.
Dish Hopper 3 subscribers can access the latest YouTube app either by selecting channel number 371 or by tapping the “Apps” button on their Dish Hopper DVR. Dish Network hopes to attract more subscribers towards their TV service with the addition of new YouTube app.
